Early Registration 2021 TBA

Local Team Early Bird Registration is $1000 (average cost with 25 teammates is $40 each) 

Out of Town Team Early Bird Registration is $800  (more than 100 miles from Las Vegas, Nevada - average cost with 25 teammates is $32 each)    

Corporate/Novice/Local Race Teams $1000 (average cost with 25 teammates is $40 each) 

Guts and Glory Charity 2K exhibition race - no restrictions; any gender - $150** 18-person boats. Benefits Breast Cancer Services.

BCS and/or All Cancer Team*** Free race, all paddlers must be registered and paid to participate in regular Festival races. 

Grand Masters*** Free race (based on enough interest, age 50+ and paid to participate in regular Festival races.

BCS and/or All Cancer Team*** Free race, all paddlers must be registered  and paid to participate in regular Festival races.   

Open 500 Meter Race - Free race, Sunday Only. No restrictions: any gender. All paddlers must be registered and paid to participate in regular Festival Races.  

Grand Masters*** Free race (based on enough interest, age 50+ and paid to participate in regular Festival races.

Individual Paddler to be placed on a team $50. 

*All Crews can have 26 on a roster. This includes 20 paddlers, 1 drummer, 1 steer and 4 alternates.*

Mixed Division - The crew must consist of a minimum of 8 and a maximum of 10 paddlers of either gender. Drummers and Helms can be of either gender. 

Open Division - no restrictions: any gender.

​Corporate / Novice Races for casino, hospital, or Corporate sponsor employees, family members and friends.

All Divisions must provide:  1 team leader on team roster.  Each team is allowed a caller/drummer, steer and 4 alternates. Steersman must be approved by Race Director.   Please notify us if you will need a steersman and/or a caller.  

**Open 2k Race (Guts and Glory Charity Race): Fee must be paid for team to be placed on the race line up. If an excessive number of teams enroll then it will be based on first to pay, first to play.

***All paddlers must be cancer survivors for the BCS/ACS Survivors Race.

****Grand Masters: All paddlers must be 50 years old and older and be on a registered team. Composite teams are okay.

SPACE

Division Categories

Women's Team – all paddlers female. Drummers and Helms can be of either gender.

Mixed – The crew must consist of a minimum of 8 and maximum of 10 paddlers of either gender. Drummers and Helms can be of either gender.

Corporate /Novice/Local Teams– Competition between Casino, Hospital, Corporate Company Sponsored, Novice, Friends & Family teams.  

Open 500 Meter - Free race, Sunday Only.  No restrictions: any gender. All paddlers must be registered and paid to participate in regular Festival Races.

Open Guts and Glory Charity 2K  - no restrictions;  any gender $150 (18-person boats). Benefits Breast Cancer Services.

Breast Cancer/All Cancer Survivors – Free race. All paddlers would have been diagnosed with breast and or any cancer, exceptions allowed for steerspersons and drummers. All paddlers must be registered and paid to participate in regular Festival Races.

Grand Masters - Free race based on enough interest. All paddlers must be registered and paid to participate in regular Festival Races.

Youth Division  Race - Ages 8-17 

Rules & Regulations

  1. Waivers: Every team member must submit to Race Management a Dragon Boat Festival (DBF) waiver form before getting onto a boat. Each team member agrees to waive any claims against DBF Directors, Race Director  and Volunteers,  that may arise from personal injury or death or damage to personal property caused by participation in Dragon Boat practices or races. It is the responsibility of the Team Captain to return signed waiver forms to Race Management prior to Team’s first practice.
     
  2. Cancellation: If Team chooses to cancel this contract 90 days prior to said race it shall be refunded its deposit less a $300 service fee. If Team cancels for any reason less than 90 days prior to the race, then team will not be entitled to any refund.
     
  3. Fulfillment of Contract: Race is a rain or shine event; however, should the event be cancelled for any reason except natural acts of God, Management will be obligated to refund only monies received from Team which will release Management from any claims or damage from the Team.
     
  4. Team Sponsorship: Management retains all rights to advertising, sponsorship and commercial representation for the event. Management is under no obligation to individual Team sponsors, and may refuse any commercial representation on the DBF site and on the water venue. Management will not be responsible for any team’s representation of their organization. Representation of the organization responsible for the Team and its sponsor(s) shall be limited to: a) clothing such as team uniforms (t-shirts, sweat suits, hats, head bands, athletic bags); b) one team flag not exceeding six feet in any direction (team flags are not allowed in dragon boats); c) other items deemed appropriate by Management.
     
  5. Race Conduct: All team members agree to follow the race conduct rules set forth in team captain materials by Management.
     
  6. Paddlers and Alternates: Adult teams may race with anyone age 14 and up. Only three alternates are allowed per team. Using additional alternates will cause your team to forfeit. Each team may have a maximum of 12 men.  Maximum medals are 25.

    7. Race Schedule: Will be posted the Tuesday prior to the          Festival.

    8. Right to Likeness: Management has the right to use        your likeness in any video, newsprint, or other media to    promote the race.
 

    9. Equipment: Team will be provided access to one dragon boat, paddles, life flotation devices and one coach/steersperson for one free practice prior to race day, and on race day. Teams may use only race equipment provided by management. Additional practices can be coordinated with the staff at the regular fees.  
 

10. Storage: Teams shall take full responsibility for any and all personal belongings and other material left in the team area. Management is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged articles.
 

11. Team Space Removal: Team agrees to completely dismantle and remove all material and decorations from their team space. Team also agrees to return space back to the same condition it was received by team by 7 p.m. on day of races.
 

12. Nevada Law: This agreement shall be governed by and be construed according to the laws of the State of Nevada.
 

13. Attorney’s Fees: Team agrees that if any legal action is taken to enforce any of the above regulations the prevailing party shall be entitled to reimbursement of reasonable attorney’s fees.

14. Any and all teams participating in the 2K, Open and or BCS/ACS must be registered to race the Festival races in order to participate in the special event races.
